GIIAS name was actually also part of the dynamics experienced by these auto show all along the way. And the exhibition venue several times moves to a better location to meet international standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1746460413MsoNormal\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_10936\" lang=\"EN-US\">For the first time, GAIKINDO\u2019s automotive exhibition was launched in 1986. At that time the exhibition still adopted the name &#8220;<i>GAIKINDO Car Exhibition<\/i>&#8221; which was handled by GAIKINDO. Aside from being the first, &#8220;<i>GAIKINDO Car Exhibition<\/i>&#8221; at the same time became the largest automotive exhibition in Indonesia at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1746460413MsoNormal\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_10939\" lang=\"EN-US\">This exhibition continued to grow, and in 2006 it achieved world calibre with the support and recognition of the Paris-based World Motor Vehicle Industry Organisation (<i id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_10938\">Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d&#8217;Automobiles<\/i>, OICA). GAIKINDO adopted a new the name for its exhibition \u201c<i>Indonesia International Motor Show\u201d <\/i>(IIMS).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1746460413MsoNormal\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_10941\" lang=\"EN-US\">Entering 2015, when all aspects of the automotive industry developed, the demand for automotive exhibition standards increased. The old paradigms of an auto show were no longer worth preserving. The concept and implementation of an auto show should be improved. It became the rationale for GAIKINDO to adopt a new name of its exhibition into <i>GIIAS<\/i>, and shift the venue to the new one that facilitates better various aspects and meets international standard requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1746460413MsoNormal\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_10943\" lang=\"EN-US\">Here is a brief history of the biggest and official automotive exhibition in Indonesia by GAIKINDO from time to time:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv3945134403MsoNormal\">[mks_tabs nav=&#8221;vertical&#8221;]<br \/>\n[mks_tab_item title=&#8221;1980s&#8221;]<br \/>\n1986 GAIKINDO organised an auto show entitled &#8220;<i>GAIKINDO Car Exhibition GAIKINDO<\/i>&#8220;. The exhibition at the time accommodated 13 participants from the motor vehicle industry of GAIKINDO members.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv3945134403MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-86.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-1847 aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-86.jpg\" alt=\"GAIKINDO 86\" width=\"764\" height=\"419\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n[\/mks_tab_item]<br \/>\n[mks_tab_item title=&#8221;1990s&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"yiv3945134403MsoNormal\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">1994: Delayed for two years as a result of the tight money policy of the Government, the Indonesian automotive exhibition could eventually be staged.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv3945134403MsoNormal\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">1996: At that time the auto show by GAIKINDO was named &#8220;<\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Jakarta Auto Expo<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">&#8221; and managed to break the sales record compared to that in the previous years, attracting over 200 thousand visitors.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1851\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1851\" style=\"width: 717px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-95-JAE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1851\" src=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-95-JAE.jpg\" alt=\"Jakarta Auto Expo 1995\" width=\"717\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1851\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jakarta Auto Expo 1995<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"yiv3945134403MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">[\/mks_tab_item]<\/span><br \/>\n[mks_tab_item title=&#8221;2000-2003&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"yiv3945134403MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2000: The exhibition\u2019s name this year was changed from &#8220;<\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Jakarta Auto Expo<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">&#8221; to &#8220;<\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GAIKINDO Auto Expo<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">&#8221; that was launched again after for three years in a row due to the financial crisis that crippled countries in Southeast Asia region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv3945134403MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2003: &#8220;<\/span><i id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_10992\" style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GAIKINDO 12th Auto Expo<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">&#8221; was held from 19 to 27 July 2003 involving 150 participants of the supporting industries, covering area of \u200b\u200b35 thousand square meters in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1855\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1855\" style=\"width: 707px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-Auto-Expo-2000.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1855\" src=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-Auto-Expo-2000.jpg\" alt=\"GAIKINDO Auto Expo 2000\" width=\"707\" height=\"402\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1855\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">GAIKINDO Auto Expo 2000<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"yiv3945134403MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\">[\/mks_tab_item]<br \/>\n[mks_tab_item title=&#8221;2004-2008&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"yiv3945134403MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2006: In that year, the automotive exhibition held by GAIKINDO managed to improve its reputation so it was listed in the international auto show calendar. GAIKINDO succeeded in proving that the series of exhibitions that it had been staging indeed meet global standards. With GAIKINDO\u2019s achievements, OICA provided recognition and support to GAIKINDO\u2019s automotive exhibition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv3945134403MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">With the recognition and support of the OICA, GAIKINDO changed the name of the exhibition in accordance with its leverage as one of international events: the <\/span><i id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_11017\" style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Indonesia International Motor Show<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> (IIMS).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv3945134403MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2008: <\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">IIMS in<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> this year occupied the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe JCC, indoor and outdoor.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1858\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1858\" style=\"width: 618px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-auto-expo-2005.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1858\" src=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-auto-expo-2005.jpg\" alt=\"GAIKINDO Auto Expo 2005\" width=\"618\" height=\"354\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1858\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">GAIKINDO Auto Expo 2005<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>[\/mks_tab_item]<br \/>\n[mks_tab_item title=&#8221;2009-2014&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2009: In an effort to keep up with quality exhibition, exhibition by GAIKINDO applied progressive concepts and full of vision, in 2009 GAIKINDO moved <\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">IIMS<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> from JCC to Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran (JI-Expo) by utilizing an area of \u200b\u200b60 thousand square meters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2013: IIMS held by GAIKINDO continued to grow and recorded a great success.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2014: The great success of IIMS held in 2013 led GAIKINDO to decide to expand the area used for exhibition in 2014 to 80 thousand square meters in an effort to accommodate the needs of participants and visitors of the exhibition for comfortable environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-2014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-1863 aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/GAIKINDO-2014.jpg\" alt=\"GAIKINDO 2014\" width=\"622\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>[\/mks_tab_item]<br \/>\n[mks_tab_item title=&#8221;2015&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Indonesian automotive exhibition organized by GAIKINDO is entering new chapter this year. GAIKINDO no longer adopted the name<\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> IIMS<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">for its exhibition, replacing it with a new name (<\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GIIAS<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">) which implies more progressive, more elegant, and more global values.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GIIAS 2015<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> occupies a new and vast venue in Indonesia Conference Exhibition-Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD ICE) City. This location is much larger in size and more elegant than the previous one, in accordance with various standards of <\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GIIAS<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> as one of the international automotive exhibitions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">ICE-BSD City occupies an area of \u200b\u200b220 thousand square meters. It has a massive building that holds 10 exhibition halls covering an area of \u200b\u200b50 thousand square meters plus an open area of \u200b\u200b50 thousand square meters, a convention hall covering an area of \u200b\u200b4,000 square meters that can be partitioned into four rooms, 29 meeting rooms, as well as convenient pre-function lobby area of \u200b\u200b12,000 square meters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">There are 34 automotive industry taking part as exhibitors of <\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GIIAS 2015<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">, all of which can be accommodated in indoor space so as that exhibitors from commercial vehicles (buses and trucks) and the visitors remain comfortable without worrying about rain or heat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GAIKINDO estimates that <\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">GIIAS 2015<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> is likely to attract 280 thousand visitors during the 11-day exhibition from 20 to 30 August 2015.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image001-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1557 aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/www.gaikindo.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image001-1.png\" alt=\"image001 (1)\" width=\"626\" height=\"121\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>[\/mks_tab_item]<br \/>\n[\/mks_tabs]<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438986778931_9456\" class=\"yiv3945134403MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) turned out to have been going through quite a long journey.
