According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), Chery sold 2,105 units\u2014up from 1,179 in August and 1,539 in July.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Chery ranked eighth among Indonesia\u2019s best-selling car brands in September and claimed the title of the best-selling electric car brand that month. Meanwhile, BYD\u2014usually among the top 10\u2014fell sharply after its sales dropped 57.5 percent to just 1,088 units from 2,562 in August. <\/p>\n\n<p>Cumulatively, Chery\u2019s sales from January to September 2025 reached 15,160 units, second only to BYD\u2019s 20,077 units. Wuling (12,264 units), Denza (6,775 units), and AION (4,405 units) followed behind. <\/p>\n\n<p>Interestingly, Chery\u2019s main sales driver isn\u2019t its fully electric lineup, but the hybrid-powered Tiggo Cross. According to Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Brand &amp; Marketing at Chery Sales Indonesia, the Tiggo Cross accounts for around 50% of Chery\u2019s total sales, with the CSH variant contributing roughly 80% of that figure.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Chery\u2019s lineup in Indonesia is currently dominated by SUVs, including the Tiggo Series, Omoda Series, and the J6 electric vehicle. The company plans to expand its portfolio next year to reach a monthly sales target of 3,000 units. Rifkie noted that Chery\u2019s average monthly sales reached 1,800 units in 2024 and are expected to rise to about 2,000 units per month in 2025, with a target of 3,000 units in 2026.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Chery\u2019s rising sales amid fierce competition reflect growing consumer confidence in the brand. Efforts to strengthen its after-sales network and introduce fuel-efficient and hybrid models have become key to Chery\u2019s continued growth in Indonesia\u2019s automotive market.
