OLX NEWS<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) automotive exhibition returned to Makassar (South Sulawesi) after a six-year absence. GIIAS is Indonesia\u2019s largest automotive exhibition organized by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO). This year, GIIAS Makassar 2025 takes place at the Summarecon Mutiara Makassar Convention Center (SMMCC) from November 5\u20139, 2025. <\/p>\n\nGIIAS Project Director, Abiyoso Wietono, said that the relocation of the venue was made to improve visitor comfort. He mentioned that SMMCC offers a larger area, modern facilities, and a strategic location. The new venue is directly connected to the Ir. Sutami Toll Road at kilometer eight and is located about four kilometers from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport and five kilometers from Makassar New Port. <\/p>\n\n
The exhibition area at SMMCC combines indoor and outdoor spaces. A larger test drive area and a zone for automotive community activities are also prepared. The nearby toll access makes it easier for visitors from outside the city to reach the exhibition venue. <\/p>\n\n
GAIKINDO Secretary General, Kukuh Kumara, explained that GIIAS Makassar 2025 serves as the closing event of this year\u2019s GIIAS The Series. He believes that holding the exhibition in Makassar is important to strengthen the automotive industry in eastern Indonesia. Based on sales data from January to July 2025, South Sulawesi contributed around 4.1 percent to national vehicle sales. <\/p>\n\n
Data from the Electronic Registration and Identification (ERI) system of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas), cited from Katadata, showed that as of April 2025, there were about 353 thousand registered passenger cars in Makassar. Meanwhile, the number of motorcycles reached about 1.65 million units. These figures indicate high mobility and a large automotive market potential in the region. <\/p>\n\n
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded an annual increase in the number of motor vehicles in South Sulawesi. This condition reinforces GAIKINDO\u2019s reason for bringing back a large-scale automotive exhibition such as GIIAS to Makassar. <\/p>\n\n
Tickets for GIIAS Makassar 2025 can be purchased through the official Auto360 application. Ticket prices are Rp15,000 on weekdays and Rp25,000 on weekends. On-site purchases are priced at Rp20,000 (weekdays) and Rp30,000 (weekends). <\/p>\n\n
Abiyoso emphasized that the move to SMMCC is not just a change of venue but also an enhancement of the visitor experience and a boost for the regional automotive market.
