JAKARTA\u2014<\/strong> The Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO) is striving to encourage the recovery of the commercial vehicle market through car exhibitions. This time, the exhibition is the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC) 2026<\/em>. The exhibition will be held this week, from 8 to 11 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GAIKINDO Chairman Putu Juli Ardika hopes the exhibition will support the performance of national automotive manufacturing amidst the dynamics that still loom over the domestic commercial vehicle industry. “The GIICOMVEC 2026<\/em> is proof that the Indonesian automotive industry has the capability to produce a variety of commercial vehicles that are specific and adaptive to the needs of various industrial sectors, of course with the support of the latest technology,” said Putu in a media release on Wednesday, 1 April 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GIICOMVEC 2026<\/em> will take place at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran (North Jakarta). The exhibition occupies Hall B and Hall C, with a total exhibition area of \u200b\u200bover 16,000 square meters. Several light commercial vehicles projected to enliven the exhibition include the Toyota Hilux Rangga, Toyota Hiace, Suzuki Carry, Wuling Formo Max, Ford Ranger, and the DFSK Gelora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electric commercial vehicles, or battery electric vehicles (BEVs), displayed at GIICOMVEC 2026 include the DFSK Gelora E, Wuling Mitra EV, Foton e-View, JAC T9 EV, and Farizon SV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putu stated that the national automotive manufacturing industry continues to demonstrate strong resilience, as evidenced by last year’s vehicle export performance. GAIKINDO data shows that CBU vehicle exports reached 518,212 units throughout 2025. This figure represents a 9.7 percent annual increase compared to 472,194 units in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This resilience is also demonstrated by export figures, which continue to show positive performance, indicating that the quality of domestic production is not only capable of meeting global standards but is also effective in maximizing the absorption of national production,” said Putu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fourth GIICOMVEC<\/em> is targeted to serve as a momentum to strengthen the national commercial vehicle ecosystem. The exhibition is projected to attract more than 11,000 visitors from industry players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Targeted visitors come from various sectors, ranging from transportation and logistics, bus and passenger transport services, manufacturing, financial services, to retail, energy, mining, construction, and government agencies. Meanwhile, GAIKINDO data shows that pickup truck sales began to show a recovery trend at the beginning of this year. From January to February 2026, wholesale pickup truck sales reached 23,383 units, a 51 percent annual increase compared to the same period the previous year of 15,496 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retail sales of pickup trucks also increased during the same period. Distribution from dealers to consumers reached 22,784 units, a 40 percent increase compared to the previous year. (*)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
