This international car show will take place on 10 to 20 August 2017 in Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City.<\/p>\n<p>GIIAS 2017 will be held with theme &#8220;Rise of the Future Mobility&#8221;. This theme implies a gesture of GAIKINDO\u2019s step in building and developing the Indonesian automotive industry into the future.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of GAIKINDO Mr Yohannes Nangoi said, GAIKINDO is committed to continuing to contribute to the development of Indonesia&#8217;s automotive industry. &#8220;Rise of the Future Mobility represents the spirit GAIKINDO to build and raise Indonesia&#8217;s automotive industry,&#8221; said Mr Nangoi.<\/p>\n<p>Global car industry has changed considerably. Various technology breakthrough drives changes in car industry. This ranges from the innovation of low electric consumption with lower fuel emissions, to driverless vehicles that are about to become a reality immediately. This shift underlies GAIKINDO\u2019s campaign to invite players of car industry in Indonesia to face globalisation in the automotive world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Developments in the Indonesian automotive industry have not reached that point yet. But globalisation affirmatively the automotive industry in Indonesia to be ready to continue to grow and develop,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>GIIAS 2017 Chief Organizer Mr Rizwan Alamsjah said the theme of &#8220;Rise of the Future Mobility&#8221; will be manifested in a variety of new technologies that will appear in GIIAS 2017. Being international automotive exhibition that promotes the advancement and development of automotive technology, GIIAS comes up to be the perfect event to educate industry players to be aware of developments that have occurred in the global automotive world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;GIIAS 2017 becomes GAIKINDO\u2019s attempt to raise Indonesia&#8217;s automotive industry into the future,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>GIIAS has also been the arena of direct meetings between industry, government and society. GIIAS not only invites the public to understand more about the advancement of the global automotive but also educate visitors about the latest developments in the automotive industry in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>GIIAS is a two-way window. GIIAS gives an overview to public on the progress of the global automotive world through a wide range of the latest products being showcased. GIIAS also serves as a mirror of the development of Indonesia&#8217;s automotive industry to the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We hope GIIAS can continue to become a derive for the growth of the domestic market as well as efforts to increase car exports from Indonesia,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Until the beginning of February 2017 there were 27 brands of GAIKINDO members claiming their commitment to participating GIIAS 2017. They consist of 21 brands of passenger vehicles, namely Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Daihatsu, Datsun, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Renault, Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota, VW, and Wuling. Of the six commercial car brands who participated, among others, FAW, Hino, Isuzu, Mitsubishi FUSO, Tata Motors, and UD Trucks.
