Suzuki Booked 64,000 Car Sales throughout, 88 Percent Made in Indonesia

GAIKINDO— PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) achieved positive car sales throughout 2025. Its retail sales exceeded 64,000 units. The majority were domestically manufactured products, accounting for 88 percent of total sales. This achievement underscores Suzuki’s role in strengthening the national automotive industry through optimizing production facilities and utilizing local components.

Dony Saputra, Deputy 4W Sales & Marketing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, said the high contribution of local products reflects Suzuki’s consistency in supporting the development of the Indonesian automotive industry. “Throughout 2025, more than 64,000 unit of Suzuki cars were sold in the domestic market. Of these, 88 percent were models manufactured in Indonesia. This demonstrates our commitment to supporting the national automotive industry,” Dony said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday, 30 January 2026.

Commercial vehicles are the backbone of Suzuki’s sales. The New Carry recorded the largest contribution, accounting for around 47 percent of total retail sales. The high sales of the New Carry reflect the need for efficient and reliable commercial vehicles to support economic activity.

For passenger cars, demand is mostly for sport utility vehicles (SUVs). The New Suzuki XL7 achieved the highest sales, accounting for around 20 percent of total sales. This increase is driven by growing consumer interest in seven-passenger family vehicles.

Suzuki’s SUV lineup is further strengthened by the introduction of the Fronx, produced at the Suzuki Cikarang (West Java) plant. This coupe-style SUV is not only intended for the domestic market but is also being prepared for export. Since its launch in May 2025, the Fronx has recorded sales of nearly 10,000 units, equivalent to 14 percent of Suzuki’s total sales last year. This model also collected 13 national awards, including Car of the Year 2025.

2025 is a crucial year for Suzuki to promote the adoption of electrification technology. The Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) variant, available on the Grand Vitara, New XL7, and Fronx, has received positive market response. “According to GAIKINDO data, six out of ten Suzuki passenger car buyers choose hybrid vehicles. This shows that consumers are increasingly accepting more efficient and environmentally friendly technology without sacrificing affordability,” said Dony. (*)
