To Develop Human Resources Ready to Enter Industry, Daihatsu Launches DOJO Class in Blitar

BLITAR— PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting sustainable human resource development in Indonesia. This is evident in its support for vocational education in Indonesia through the “Gebyar Pintar Bersama Daihatsu 2026” event. This event coincided with the inauguration of the Daihatsu DOJO Industrial Class at Islamic Vocational High School (SMK) 1 Blitar (East Java).

As a “training ground,” the DOJO facility aims to improve the abilities and skills of vocational high school students through hands-on practical study. The facility is designed to meet the needs of the automotive industry, ensuring students are better prepared for the real world of work in the automotive industry.

The event was attended by representatives from relevant parties, including local government, education, foundations, and industry. These representatives included the Head of the East Java Education Office Mr Aries Agung Paewai; Head of the Blitar Regional Education Office Branch Ms Indiyah Nurhayati; Supervisor of the Blitar Regional Education Office Branch Ms Endang Sulistyowati; Coordinator of the Kediri Region for Astra International Mr Jun Felik; Head of the Astra International – Daihatsu Sales Operation Blitar Branch Mr Wisnu Achmad Faiz; Chairman of the Ma’arif Nadhlatul Ulama Educational Foundation Mr Ahmad Taib; and members of the Nadhlatul Ulama Branch Management for Blitar City and Regency, program area coordinators, and representatives of assisted vocational schools (SMK) in East Java, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and Bali.

The Pintar Bersama Daihatsu Program has collaborated with 445 vocational schools (SMK) across Indonesia, with 82 schools located in East Java, NTB, and Bali. This number reflects a spirit of collaboration that continues to be strengthened to improve the quality of vocational education. “In the 2026–2027 period, the main focus of this program is quality, ensuring that the training has a real impact on schools, teachers, and students, and even contributes to the automotive industry,” said Mr Ferry Nugroho, General Affairs Division Head of PT ADM.

The presence of the Daihatsu DOJO Industrial Class is a strategic step in improving the quality of industry-based learning. The DOJO is not only a practical space, but also a means of fostering an industrial culture from an early age. Students are equipped with technical skills as well as the values ​​of discipline, precision, responsibility, and a professional work ethic.

In addition to the inauguration of the DOJO facility, the series of activities also included the signing of a synchronization agreement for the curriculum of vocational schools under its guidance in East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and Bali, as an effort to align with industry needs. Daihatsu also presented accreditation certificates and donated machinery to vocational schools that successfully upgraded their accreditation levels for the 2025–2026 period.

The Head of the East Java Education Office Mr Aries Agung Paewai, appreciated the consistent collaboration between industry and vocational education. “This partnership is crucial in increasing the relevance of vocational school graduates to the needs of the workforce. We appreciate Daihatsu’s contribution to strengthening the facilities, curriculum, and industrial culture in schools,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMK Islam 1 Blitar Mr Gigih Widiyanto, expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in them. “The DOJO facility provides an important platform for students to learn according to industry standards, thereby improving the competency and job readiness of graduates,” he said.
