Truck Manufacturers Accommodate Popular Culture “Food Truck” at GIIAS 2015

JAKARTA— The phenomenon of selling food on the car (food trucks) has since the last few years begun to thrive in Jakarta. The popular culture that has first appeared in the United States (US) finds more desirable communities in major cities such as Jakarta. Food trucks that usually open at some points the crowd in the capital, is now present in considerable numbers at the arena of automobile exhibition GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in 2015.
 
GIIAS 2015’ committee provides a spacious area at the exhibition venue where number of units of food trucks can park to give comfort and hospitality to visitors. This makes the 2015 GIIAS more complete as an area that accommodates one of popular culture icons emerging in urban society.

Sejumlah produsen truk memunculkan berbagai model food truck dengan desain menawan dan sentuhan senirupa kontemporer di stand mereka. APM yang menghadirkan model dengan desain food truck antara lain Hino, Tata Motor, Isuzu, Toyota Dyna, dan Mitsubishi Fuso. 
 
Some truck manufacturers go further by giving opportunity to this business phenomenon to grow. A number of truck manufacturers— Hino, Tata Motors, Isuzu, Toyota Dyna, and Mitsubishi Fuso— are showcasing lineups of food truck models with attractive design and a touch of contemporary art in their booths.  Hino builds its food truck from light-duty truck Dutro 110 SDL. The light truck is designed with a kitchen with complete cooking equipment at the rear of the truck and a screen that displays the menu. Meanwhile, Isuzu builds ELF 100ps Turbo. Tata Motors comes up with Tata Ace EX2 for its food truck. Toyota Dyna coverts its 110ST, and Mitsubishi Fuso boasts its Colt Diesel FE 71 L. (*)
