MAKASSAR— Makassar, capital of South Sulawesi Province, begins to host an auto exhibition today, 25 November 2015. The auto exhibition is dubbed “GIIAS Auto Show 2015”, taking place at Celebes Convention Centre Building through 29 November 2015. There are 13 brands of cars and 30 supporting industries taking part in the auto show.
The “GIIAS Makassar Auto Show” is derived from an international exhibition that the Association of Indonesia Automobile Industry (GAIKINDO) routinely holds in Jakarta— GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Makassar is the first city of Jakarta to host the exhibition. The next city to host the exhibition is Surabaya (East Java) from 9 through 13 December.
The exhibition signifies GAIKINDO’s commitment to always presenting new models with latest technology in all exhibitions. Car makers that take part in the auto show include Chevrolet, Daihatsu, Datsun, Ford, Hino, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Renault, Suzuki.
GIIAS Makassar Auto Show 2015 is staged in a venue with 6,000 square meters of space. It is expected to attract some 20,000 attendants in its 5-day duration show.
Toyota is showcasing its newly-launched model, All New Kijang Innova, Meanwhile, Nissan launched an entertainment programme “Nissan Blind Challenge” by using one of its flagship products, Nissan X-Trail. Mitsubishi introduces its new MPV Delica Royal.
