JAKARTA— GAIKINDO held a press conference ahead of GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS)2015. The press conference took place in Jakarta on Thursday, 6 August 2015. It confirmed the GAIKINDO’s ownership on the newly adopted name of GIIAS as the only international automotive exhibition in Indonesia.
GIIAS GAINS OICA’S ENDORSEMENT. “The main focus GAIKINDO is to continue to be committed to developing Indonesia’s automotive industry. This is one of reasons for GAIKINDO to hold the global annual automotive exhibition,” said Chairman of GAIKINDO Mr Sudirman MR to media.
Apart from the Chairman Mr Sudirman MR, the press conference also presented First Chairman of GAIKINDO Mr Jongkie D Sugiarto, Chairman of the Organizing GIIAS 2015 Mr Johnny Darmawan, Mr Andy Wismarsyah of Seven Events (GIIAS organiser), and Ms Wianda Pusponegoro of Pertamina (main sponsor of GIIAS 2015).
GIIAS 2015 is adopting theme “Smart Mobility for the Future” and will take place in the ICE-BSD City from 20 to 30 August 2015. Various models of high-tech vehicles with intelligent features that support safety driving will be showcased during GIIAS 2015. This is in line with GAIKINDO’s commitment to promoting smart manners of driving with utilisation of technology and systems that integrate with the traffic.
Apart from being the only official exhibition by GAIKINDO, GIIAS is also the only automotive exhibition in Indonesia which gains international recognition through the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles(OICA) in every even-numbered year of its implementation.
