Vice President Mr Jusuf Kalla: Car Industry Is Big Industry

PakJKJAKARTA— The automotive industry has mutual interaction with other supporting industries. It has association with several aspects, all of which lead to economic improvements. Automobile industry, for example, opens the opportunity for the growth of supporting industries that function as supplier (vendor).

“This makes the automotive industry is a big industry,” said Vice President Jusuf Kalla while giving a speech during the launch of the international automotive exhibition GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in 2015 in Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City, Thursday, 20 August 2015.

According to the Vice President, the need for vehicles by individuals and commercial entities as a means of transport continues to increase. The use of technology in the automobile industry is also growing. With technology, the industry is capable of producing efficient cars. “Efficiency makes everything better and easier,” said the Vice President.

He continued, growing automobile industry has encouraged the emergence of supporting industries to produce components. That means that this is an opportunity for a lot of workforces. Moreover, the automobile industry also has aspects of esthetics. “Car manufacturers strive to come up with new models with charming, fashionable and artistic shapes and colors,” said the Vice President.

On the other hand, the growth of the national automobile industry has been responded to by the Government through its obligation to build infrastructure, such as highways. “More car sales mean that the government compensates by providing more subsidies, as well,” said the Vice President. (*)
