Indonesia’s Vehicle Retail Sales, January–December 2025

Indonesia’s vehicle retail market throughout January–December 2025 remained strongly dominated by Japanese manufacturers, led by Toyota with total retail sales of 258,923 units, maintaining its position as the market leader. Daihatsu followed in second place with 137,855 units, reinforcing its strength in the affordable passenger car segment. Honda, Mitsubishi Motors, and Suzuki completed the top five, recording retail sales of 71,233 units, 70,338 units, and 64,838 units, respectively, reflecting intense competition in the mainstream passenger vehicle category. Notably, BYD emerged as the leading Chinese brand with 44,342 units, signaling the accelerating adoption of electrified vehicles in Indonesia. In the commercial vehicle segment, Mitsubishi Fuso, Isuzu, and Hino posted solid performances with retail sales of 25,613 units, 25,295 units, and 20,517 units, while Wuling recorded 20,607 units, highlighting the increasingly diverse landscape of Indonesia’s automotive market in 2025.
