TANGERANG – GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show 2016 (GIIAS 2016) paid a community service to facilitate education of young generation of Indonesia through social programs entitled “GIIAS Educare”. The corporate social responsibility (CSR) was aimed at supporting the education of children of primary school have been implemented for a full day with visiting students Mi Mathalul Anwar, Kemiri, Karang Anyar, Tangerang (Banten).
“Providing better educational facilities for the younger generation of Indonesia has become one of GIIAS’ commitments since the beginning. This year we are working to make that happen through a community service to school with a series of educational events and social activities for students of an elementary school,” said Mr Kukuh Kumara, Secretary General of the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO).
Mr Andy Wismarsyah, President of Seven Events (organizer circuit GIIAS 2016), revealed key events in the programme of “GIIAS Educare 2016” is “Teaching & Giving”. “Through this event, we invite students to become familiar with the vocabulary of the English language, social sciences and natural and healthy way of life and share the inspiration for their ideals,” he explained. He continued that “GIIAS Educare” partners with the “1000 Teachers”, a non-profit community who often proclaim the reality of the state of education in the backyard parts of the country. “1000 Teachers is right for the social partner of “GIIAS Educare” programme. We share the same vision of where we strive to make a real contribution through social action for a better education,” he said.
In addition to the ‘Teaching & Giving’, GIIAS Educare also organises social activities such as donations of school supplies, renovation of schools to provide learning spaces worthy while improving sanitation facilities, and free medical consultations for students and the surrounding community. “We hope the presence of GIIAS Educare can provide benefits for students. We hope to provide educational support for students in other areas,” he said.
GAIKINDO will continue the series of activities of GIIAS 2016 by presenting the largest automotive exhibition in Southeast Asia that will take place on 11-21 August 2016 in Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang. With a total floor area of the exhibition reaches 96,677 square meters, GIIAS 2016 will accommodate as many as 33 brands of vehicles to showcase. They comprise of 26 passenger vehicle brands such as Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Datsun, Daihatsu, Dodge, Fiat, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Renault, Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota, VW, Wuling and seven brands of commercial vehicles consisting of FAW, DAF TRUCK NV, Hino, Isuzu, Mitsubishi Fuso, Tata Motors, and UD Truck.
