Taiwan Attracted in Indonesian Automotive Parts Industry

JAKARTA— Taiwan’s manufacturing industry is attracted into the automotive spare parts industry in Indonesia. They are encouraged by RI government’s attractive programme to boost automobile industry through fresh investment for the next five years.

Executive Vice President of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) Simon Wang said it sees opportunities in several fields of manufacture— forging, assembly, and printing.

Simon offers Taiwan machine tools for automobile manufacture, aerospace vehicles, consumer electronics, mold, and other mechanical components.

He said Taiwan’s machine tools have proven reliable in the automotive industry. They were tested through the provision of automated manufacturing cells and production lines consisting of machine tools and automation facilities, such as a robotic arm, all of which are integrated.

“Taiwan’s machine tools industry is very possible to become an indispensable partner for the processing and automotive parts manufacturing company in Indonesia,” said Simon during his visit in Jakarta.

Taiwan has invited eight well-known manufacturers in the field of machine tools Taiwan to demonstrate their automotive products and assembly techniques. A total of 117 Taiwanese companies engaged in the field of machine tools (tools) ready to strengthen Indonesia’s automotive industry supply chain. (*)
