JAKARTA— PT Pertamina (Persero) raises the price of fuel Friday, 16 December 2016. The increase includes some types of fuels, such as PERTAMAX 92, Pertalite, and Solar Dex Lite— all non-subsidized fuels.

The fuel price hike this time is, among others, triggered by the rising price of world’s crude oil prices since mid-December 2016. A source said, the weakening of the rupiah against the US dollar (US) is another cause of the rise in fuel prices this time.

In Jakarta Pertalite rose from IDR 6,900 per liter to IDR 7,050 per liter. 92 Pertamax prices rose from IDR 7,600 per liter to IDR 7,750 per liter. Dex Lite Solar prices rose from IDR 6,750 per liter to IDR 6,900 per liter.

Vice President Retail Fuel Marketing Pertamina Afandi said the rising price of IDR 150 per liter for the three types of the non-subsidized fuel.

He said the cause of the rising fuel prices is the rising price Market Index (HIP) to eight percent, and the depreciation of the rupiah against the US dollar.

Changes in the price of Pertamax 92, Pertalite, and Dex Lite IDR 150 per liter applies to the entire region. Evaluation of non-subsidized fuel prices take place regularly every two weeks. (*)
